INTREC was engaged by RMIT University and Root Partnerships to deliver the de-fit of an existing laboratory space and fitout of a new Catalysis laboratory with associated roof exhaust system at their City campus.
Works included the installation of six new fume cupboards and two walk-in fume cupboards, the installation of two new flue stacks on top of the existing roof, and the installation of new exhaust runs within the ceiling space of the existing live labs. Extensive design workshops with the supplier and the end user took place, to ensure the final product met the University’s requirements. INTREC’s successful onsite management meant the fume cupboards were ordered and manufactured within programme. It also meant the opening of the roof and subsequent installation works were carried out within a safe working environment, for staff, students, and our trade partners.
