INTREC was engaged by the University of Newcastle (UoN) to deliver extensive live environment works in the heritage-listed University House. University House included significant internal and external heritage building fabric, requiring careful attention during maintenance and refurbishment works. New sheet liquid waterproof membrane works were completed to provide a seamless, durable barrier against water ingress and ensure long-term protection of the underlying structure. The project involved extensive facade, roofing, window, waterproofing, and stormwater upgrades to Level 3 & 4, as well as the internal lightwell. Compliance and refurbishment works were undertaken across all four levels of the building. INTREC was required to ensure the conservation of the heritage elements of University House while also ensuring minimal disruption to the UoN’s daily operations.
