Located on Griffith University’s vibrant Nathan campus, INTREC has breathed new life into the Marketing & Communications and Records Management spaces in N54 Bray Centre. Its primary objective was to develop and trial innovative work approaches through a pilot initiative, with the intention of implementing these strategies across the entire campus.
The project involved a complete overhaul of the existing layout across a section of 1 floor, including the demolition of internal structures such as walls, screens, and doors. The transformation also included the removal of outdated wall and floor finishes, ceiling materials, and all associated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and fire services.
Given the live university environment, the project encountered risks and associated with the switch board changeover, which posed potential disruptions to ongoing activities. Additionally, services coordination presented challenges, with the need to align various systems to avoid project setbacks and increased costs. Mitigating these risks required meticulous planning, effective communication, and proactive measures to minimise disruptions and ensure smooth project execution.
The project was successfully completed on schedule, ensuring all stakeholders were fully satisfied.
