INTREC were engaged by RMIT University and Root Partnerships to create two new ECP Laboratories within their City Campus. Project works consisted of two laboratory areas containing of numerous elements. The first lab involved the construction of a main wet chemical laboratory, including four fume cupboards, an exhaust sleeve, MilliQ water and 1D water, a photocatalysis laboratory (dark room) with blacked-out fume cupboards with separate exhaust sleeve and gas inlets connected to external gas bottles.
The second lab was distinguished by three separate areas; an Electrochemical Lab, which included a safety shower, eyewash station, fumehood, sink and separate areas for Electrochemistry and Functional Coating corrosion science; a Nano Lab including a safety shower, eyewash station, fume hood and sink for the purpose of Nanoscience and Molecular Chemistry; and a technical bay, utilising autonomous science and robotics.
