Partnering with You
INTREC believes in building for future generations, not only through our projects but through our commitment to sustainability. We take pride in being an environmentally conscious construction company. In all aspects of our daily operations and onsite works, we enforce sustainable practices that aim to minimise our environmental impact and lower our embodied carbon.
INTREC takes a project-specific approach to our sustainable practices, first analysing the requirements for materials, production, disposal, operational requirements, and any other site-specific environmental impacts. We can then use our expertise as a D&C delivery partner to maximise the sustainability intervention for each project, exceeding the industry minimums and achieving a truly sustainable outcome.
INTREC uses our understanding of construction, and our ongoing relationships with consultants and suppliers to ensure our proposed sustainability intervention works from a buildability viewpoint, so we aren’t proposing overly ambitious and unrealistic goals.
With a developing portfolio, INTREC is becoming experienced in delivering projects with a sustainable future in mind. While we acknowledge that the construction industry has a long way to go, INTREC can draw on our experience, extensive buildability expertise, and the relationships we have built with our consultants since 1996 to help you design and build sustainably, lowering your embodied carbon and operational costs for years to come.
Our Sustainability Impact
How can we assist your sustainable projects targets?
The Concept Phase
Using our D&C delivery partner capabilities to look for sustainable innovations to lower embodied carbon during the design phase and during construction.
During this stage, INTREC has 100% ability to make change.
Detailed Design Phase
Using our D&C delivery partner capabilities to look for sustainable innovations to lower embodied carbon during the design phase and during construction.
During this stage, INTREC has 50% ability to make positive sustainable change.
Lead In Phase
INTREC will introduce techniques for reducing carbon emissions, measuring and monitoring waste and proposing sustainably sourced materials during the Lead In Phase.
During this stage, INTREC has 20% ability to make positive sustainable change.
Construction Phase
INTREC will monitor, suggest and implement sustainable processes during the construction phase, such as monitoring and limiting waste, partnering with delivery partners for sustainable innovations and lowering embodied carbon by proposing local suppliers, where applicable.
During this stage, INTREC has 10% ability to make positive sustainable change.
Defects Phase
During this stage, INTREC has 0% ability to make positive sustainable change.
INTREC acknowledge and understand our role in the delivery of sustainable projects. To us, it’s simple. The earlier we are engaged in the design process, the greater impact we can have over sustainable interventions on any project.
Green Building Council
INTREC has been a proud member of the Green Building Council of Australia for over 15 years.
Our membership with the GBCA represents our commitment to sustainability in the built environment and beyond, as we continue to strengthen our capabilities on projects such as the University of Wollongong TLS Upgrade and the Mulpha International Essentia Townhomes in Sydney’s Norwest.
We also recognise our industry partners for their ongoing commitment to GBCA – Dexus, Knight Frank, Arup, Australia Post and CBRE (just to name a few).
