Safety & Compliance Advisor at INTREC

We are seeking a skilled Safety & Compliance Advisor to join our team in Sydney and support our continued success in the construction industry. As a key member of our Safety team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our projects comply with the latest safety standards, regulations, and the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with OFSC requirements and relevant safety legislation.
  • Provide expert guidance on Work Health and Safety practices across multiple NSW sites.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure safety standards are maintained.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of safety management systems and procedures.
  • Deliver training and support to staff on safety protocols, policies, and regulations.
  • Lead the investigation and reporting of safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify safety risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, audits, and compliance documentation.
  • Foster a strong safety culture across all teams and projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years experience in a Safety Advisor or Compliance role within the construction or refurbishment sectors.
  • Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent qualification).
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • In-depth knowledge of OFSC requirements, WHS regulations, and safety management systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
