Junior Estimator at INTREC
It’s all hands-on deck. We are busy, we are growing, and we need the help of a Junior Estimator. Your role involves:
- Plan and assist cost estimates for small, medium and large projects
- Make outbound calls to Subcontractors requesting interest in price trade work for tenders
- Chase up quotes from subcontractors
- Prepare, print out, and email tender packages for subcontractors
- Take and issue minutes at the Bid Team Meetings and Tender Strategy Meetings
- Answer questions and phone calls for any Tender Request for Information (Tender RFI) for the proposed tender
- Format, print and bind submissions to a high design standard
- Establish and manage Bid Action Plans for delivery of submission requirements
- Maintain and update Bid & Strategy documentation/information database
The skills we need
- Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management or similar
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Good computer skills in MS Office applications: Excel & Word
- Exposure using Buildsoft, Cubit, MS Project, EstimateOne, Microsoft Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Assertive and confident approach, in particular when dealing with subcontractors
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay focused under pressure
- Willingness to learn about Estimating and the INTREC project operating systems
- Professional presentation and good attention to detail
