Works on the Third Operating Theatre at West Gippsland Hospital in Victoria are well underway, with the building now enclosed and the installation of surgical equipment and fit off for services now taking place.
Over the next six weeks, works such as the installation of a mechanical plant to chiller will also be undertaken. As the Operating Theatre progresses, INTREC continue to give back to the community.
Recognising the need for local employment in Warragul is a vital part of acknowledging our responsibilities as a building partner. INTREC were able to assist the local community by employing a local labourer for the project as part of our Delivery Team.
Our project letting process also involved sourcing local contractors in the region. As a result, 24% of the project is being delivered by subcontractors from the greater Latrobe Valley Region.
Local subcontractors not only provide a wealth of knowledge to our regional projects, but they are familiar with the surroundings, local suppliers and businesses.
Our Project Teams have seen how beneficial the engagement of local subcontractors can be to our project management, programme progress and achieving best value for money.
By appointing local tradespeople and subcontractors to our regional projects, we inject work and opportunity into local communities, an incentive highly appreciated by our trusted trade partners.
