Having already completed major works at the Logan City Council in 2013 INTREC have now completed the refurbishment of numerous buildings for Logan City Council at the Marsden Works Depot. The project involved the refurbishment of the main building being the workshop and the facilities administration department consisting of new walls, floor finishes, all services, joinery, Lift, break out areas, amenities, FF&E, workstations, roofing, structural steel, concreting, block laying and painting. The secondary building was converted from storage building to department offices, meeting rooms and facilities. Part of this project included the installation of a new DDA compliant lift including new lift well and shaft.
New mechanical services were installed throughout the administration building and new mechanical to the converted storage building.
We installed a new fire hydrant system throughout the entire facility (10,000m2) whilst the facility was fully operational with vehicles continuously driving in the work area.
Part of the project was to replace the roofing over a 1600m2 operational mechanical workshop without interfering with the day to day operations of the workshop. As the building and workshop were occupied all deliveries and replacement of 1600m2 of roofing were carried out after hours.
The Site was in use for 6 days a week with all council employees commencing work from the depot each morning and returning each day so work was carried out during work normal hours but the majority was after normal working hours.
