The Hungry Jacks Brisbane Airport Centre, Mt Ommaney and Surfers Paradise projects involved the complete refurbishment of an occupied and functional restaurants. Works were carried out whilst not interfering with the day to day operation of the restaurants.
The works were staged with the external component of the contract forming the first stage, followed by the indoor dining and amenities, then the servery.
The project program was 6 weeks and involved creation of a new commercial kitchen space, dining room, service counter and drive thru ordering facilities within an existing shell.
The kitchen area required the installation of HJ’s signature gas powered broiler which is utilsed for burger patty cooking and multiple commercial fryers along with an extensive array of food grade stainless steel food prep equipment. In addition a complete suite of post-mix, frozen beverage, coffee and sundae/shake dispensing machines & services where installed.
The back of house cooking functions are linked to the drive thru window and front counter order stations via a Kitchen Buddy Minder System which through a series of communications links internally within the store and country wide between HJ’s stores allows the staff to anticipate peaks and troughs in customer purchases down to the minute based on historical data.
All works were completed to a high standard, on budget and to program.
