INTREC recently completed the Hot Yoga Studio at Fitness First, Barangaroo. Hot Yoga is a popular trend for the fitness industry, as classes take place in a room set to about 35 degrees; working out in heat of this magnitude loosens muscles and joints to improve flexibility and mobility.

The Hot Yoga Studio required 3 large FCU’s and the marking out of the air conditioning boots, requiring extensive amounts of mechanical work. Working in an occupied site meant after hours work, in order to lessen the disruption to employees and members. A wide range of specific materials were used  to achieve the design intent, such as; the installation of infrared heating panels in the ceiling, wall finishes were a set render with a white effect and fitting a control board that allowed management over lighting, blinds, sound and temperature.

Teaming up with the Fitness First design team, they introduced interesting design features around the studio. Creating the atmosphere of tranquility and enlightenment was successful through the use of lighting, placed along the floors, inside the bulkhead pelmet and fitted behind the mirrors. The light timber flooring tied in perfectly with the ambiance of the room. INTREC were honored to complete another project for Fitness First by constructing their first ever Hot Yoga Room in Australia.
